Frigitorium uses refrigeration to chill water for cold recovery. That process creates useful heat.
In a standard refrigeration system, that heat is rejected to atmosphere. With optional heat recovery, Frigitorium can capture that heat and redirect it into the gym’s hot water system, helping preheat the water used for showers.
In a high shower use facility, hot water demand is likely to be far greater than chilled recovery water demand. That gives the recovered heat a practical use every day.
The result is simple: cold recovery that can operate at little or no net energy cost, because the energy used to chill the water is recovered back into the site as useful heat.
How it works
Cooling does not destroy heat. It moves it.
Frigitorium removes heat from the chilled water circuit. Instead of sending that heat outside, an optional heat recovery loop can transfer it into a hot water preheat tank. The compressor also adds heat to the system, increasing the recoverable energy available for hot water preheating.
Actual performance will depend on hot water demand, storage design, operating hours and system integration. In the right gym environment, Frigitorium can deliver chilled recovery while helping pay for itself through the hot water system already running every day.
